Alleged speeding driver causes head-on crash and wrongful death

Drivers in Marietta and throughout Georgia should be mindful of the dangers when they are out on the road. This is especially true in the summer months when more young people will be driving during the day and night. With the combination of inexperience, recklessness, distracted driving, speeding and other issues that are common with younger drivers, accidents are inevitable. Some of these can cause severe injuries. Others can lead to fatalities. Those who have been hurt or lost a loved one in a car accident must keep in mind their options to file a lawsuit.

A head-on car accident claimed the life of a 24-year-old woman. A 17-year-old girl, a passenger in the other vehicle, also died. The accident happened at around 7:42 p.m. The law enforcement investigation says that the 24-year-old who died was driving a 2014 Ford Escape and heading north. A 20-year-old male driving a 2010 Toyota Corolla was going south.

The driver of the Corolla lost control and went into the northbound lanes, crashing head-on into the Escape. The driver of the Escape was taken to the hospital and died there. The passenger in the Corolla was also taken to the hospital where she died. The driver and another passenger, a 16-year-old male, suffered injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. The driver was speeding and is likely to face charges in the crash.

When there is a fatal car accident, the family who has lost a loved one will have many issues to sift through. Included is the loss of companionship, pain and suffering, lost income and much more.
